Medelec Switchgear Ltd. supplies gas insulated switchgear (GIS) for voltages up to 36kV, from the AREVA WS and WI ranges. Medelec customises the switchgear by providing protection and control according to the customer’s needs.
WS Product Description
Type-tested WS switchgear panels are metal enclosed and metal clad. The insulating medium is SF6 gas. The modular design of the switchgear panel comprises bus-bar section and three-position switch, circuit-breaker section with drive cabinet, low-voltage cabinet as well as sub-frame with cable connection area.
On double bus-bar units, both bus-bar compartments are individually metal clad.
WI Product Description
WI switchgear features maximum availability, optimum staff safety and ergonomic and logical design. WI is suitable for use on single bus-bar (WIA) and double bus-bar (WIB) systems.
The gas-insulated and metal-enclosed WI series is designed for operation in power stations, transformer stations and industrial networks. Vacuum circuit breakers are used for switching, with SF6 gas used as an insulation medium. The gas-insulated units are insensitive to environmental influences such as moisture, dust and aggressive gases and ensure maximum staff protection. The ergonomic and logical overall design ensures simple reliable control.
