Medelec designs control and protection panels to cater for various applications according to customer requirements, utilising simple conventional control and microprocessor protection units to highly sophisticated numerical protection relays and digital control systems.
Cubicles are designed, taking in consideration, ambient conditions, site installation, space restrictions, and personnel safety without compromising the ease of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the control/protection panels.

Several modular panel designs are available but panels can also be tailor made to suit specific requirements.
- Rear access for cable termination
- Open front or with padlockable front transparent door
- Hinged internal door with modular 19” mounting plates up to 40U for flush mount equipment
- Various types of mounting plates with custom made cut-outs for different types of relays and equipment
- Removable gland plates
- Removable side panels (with louvers if necessary)
- Internal cubicle ambient control and lighting

GENERAL PANEL SPECIFICATION
The boards are 600mm wide X 1875mm high X 450mm deep, floor mounting sheet steel cubicle pattern relay/control panel with front hinged access door.
Cable entry is from bottom of cubicle.
- Auxiliary AC supply 220 Volts
- DC Supply 48 Volts DC
- Wiring to BS6231 – 2.5sq.mm
- Black for A.C. circuits
- Grey for D.C. circuits
- Phase coloured for VT circuits
- Green/Yellow for earthing
- Earthing is 25 X 4mm HDHC copper busbar throughout the boards
- Labels are engraved in plastic laminate.

AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATORS FOR TRANSFORMERS
Medelec manufactures and supplies automatic voltage regulators (AVR) according to transformer manufacturers' specifications and customer needs.
Such AVR's can be made to integrate with sub-station digital control systems.
